“Did that Bird Just Fly?!”

My wife says I should write a book of all the interesting things that I experienced in my 27 year of practice. I would, but I don’t think anyone would buy it 🙂
So, I will just occasionally write one of my stories here on our blog page for you to enjoy.
It was the last week in March, and I was treating a 4 year old Amish boy. His mom was holding his baby brother. When I was finishing, the mom asked if I could treat the trigger point that releases the sinuses and eustachian tubes. To do this, I put on a finger cot and go into the mouth and swab the trigger point. Continue Reading »
V2V

Village To Village Intl. (V2V)
CCWC is proud to be a part of a group that underwrites the operational cost of  V2V.
What does this mean to you? Every dollar that you give goes directly to the project or family that you have chosen to give to (other than a small merchant fee if you’re donating with a credit card)! How awesome is that?!
Right now V2V has a cool promotion going on! If you commit to $10 a month, you get a cool V2V T-shirt. For every $10 more a month we will add another T-shirt. You can go to the following link to give.

Just Because You Can’t Do Everything, Don’t fail To Do Something,
Dr. Waggoner
Busy Busy Busy
Why is Community Chiropractic & Wellness Center (CCWC) so busy?
We have a unique philosophy when it comes to health and wellness.
We promote a healthy combination of passive and active care.
You may ask, “What is active and passive care?”
Passive care is the treatment we give to you while you are in our office. Chiropractic adjustments, massage, acupuncture, decompression, EDS, biofeedback, taping, foot baths, electric stimulation, and ultrasound are all a form of passive Continue Reading »
Get Ready to Ride!

We are proud to announce the formation of the CCWC cycling club! We will meet several times a week (weather permitting)! We will post the week’s ride times and routes on our Face Book page, so make sure you check in often. Watch our Facebook page for announcements on when the first ride will be. Tell your friends!
We will have group rides with different levels of riders. The rule will be no one person will ride alone at the back of the pack. So, we will always have someone riding with you. If you go out in front and we can’t hang with you, that’s ok too. You will have the route.
CCWC cycling club jerseys will be available for $50 to anyone who wants one! The first few have been ordered. Once we get them in, we’ll get some photos up of what they look like, and start taking orders! More information to follow!
Looking forward to enjoying the country side of northern Indiana and Southern Michigan with you,
Dr. Waggoner
35!!!!

Can you believe it!? Dr. Waggoner has already lost 35 pounds in only three months’ time! In case you have forgotten, he started the year at 285, and now he is officially at 249 (ok, so 36 pounds, but we didn’t have a 36 pound weight sitting around). It’s important to note that there are many ways in which you can lose weight (diet pills, shakes, fasting, etc…), but Doc is doing it the right way; eating right and exercising.
I mean come on! Look how happy he is with his weight loss! Keep it up Doc! You are doing great! Only 54 more pounds to go (and 9 months to do it).Â
Stress Much?
It seems like people are always mentioning how much stress they are under, or how much they worry about everything that’s going on in their lives. The busier our lives get, the more stressed we become. Stress can take a tremendous toll on our bodies. According to WebMD, 75% – 90% of all doctor’s office visits are for stress-related ailments and complaints.
Fortunately, we have good news for you! We are happy to welcome Dean Bontrager to the CCWC family! He specializes in Biofeedback Therapy. He will be in the office on Mondays beginning in April. Essentially, he can use instruments to help you learn how to control the stress your body is under, and learn how to relax. Instead of writing all about it though, why don’t we just let Dean do the talking! Just click on the video below to watch!
Is Cracking Your Knuckles and/or Neck Bad for Your Joints?

It’s something we all have done; voluntarily or not. It could just be from habit or to relieve some pressure we feel in our hands or back. People have wondered for a while now if this can be damaging to our joints and bones.
First, we have to understand what happens when we personally crack our knuckles or spine. The big CRACK sound that feels so good is gas leaving a joint. It’s not bone directly being affected. At a joint, where two bones meet, there is a covering of articular cartilage. The bones are held together by other connective tissues, like ligaments. The joint capsule surrounds the joint containing the lubrication to help move the joint. This lubrication is called sinovial fluid, and it is Continue Reading »
Give $10…Get a T!!!

Whether you have read past blog posts, or have taken the time to look around the website, you have probably picked up on the fact that we have a passion for orphan care! There are many ways in which we can care for orphans; whether it be through sponsoring children, building orphanages, adoption, etc… Well, right now you have an opportunity to help by simply giving $10 a month to Village to Village International. Most Americans spend that much in just two visits to Starbucks. 100% of your money would go towards helping adopting families with their expenses (the average adoption costs between $20,000 and $40,000). I know there are people asking for your money every which way you look these days, but right now is the perfect time to give to THIS cause, because not only does it help these families bring home their sons and daughters, you’ll also get a free t-shirt in the process! So, sign up today before all of the t-shirts are gone!

Gotta Be Gluten Free?

What does it mean to be gluten free?
Gluten is a type of protein found in common cereal grains, wheat, barley, rye, and any foods that
contain these ingredients. Most people know Celiac disease to be associated with gluten intolerance.
You do not have to be diagnosed with this disease in order to have some degree of gluten sensitivity.
The best way to know if gluten could be causing an issue for you is to try eliminating it from your diet.
Going gluten free at first can be difficult, because it means avoiding all wheat based flours and

We Like Adoption Too!
If you read my profile on the staff page of this website, you’ll notice that my wife and I are expecting. Sometime within the next 4-6 months (Lord willing) we will be traveling to Thailand to bring home a little boy as our son. I have never met him. But I have lost how many times I have cried tears of joy thinking about meeting him for the first time, and welcoming him into our lives. My wife stumbled upon a video that does a beautiful job of showing/explaining the joys of adopting a child that needs a family to call their own. The first time I watched it, I couldn’t hold back the tears seeing the beautiful faces of these children, and this beautiful diverse family. Please take a moment to watch this video. There are millions upon millions of orphans in the world today. Ask yourself if you might consider adoption as well. – Aaron Waggoner, Director of Public Relations & Fitness
